Actions1. Tonifies the Liver & Kidneys, strengthens the sinews & bones: for sore & painful lower back & knees, stiffness in the joints, & weakness in the legs from deficient Liver & Kidneys. This herb is especially useful in these conditions as it tonifies without causing stagnation.2. Stops uterine bleeding & calms the fetus: for deficient uterine bleeding & vaginal discharge. Also used for restless fetus, bleeding during pregnancy, & threatened miscarriage. 3. Promotes the movement of blood, alleviates pain, & generates flesh: often used for trauma & external disorders (such as sores) & especially for pain & swelling in the lower back & limbs from trauma. For this purpose it can be applied topically or taken internally. Can also be used for painful obstruction. |
