Actions1. Unblocks the yang qi & disperses cold phlegm: for damp-cold painful obstruction of the chest due to cold turbid phlegm congealing & stagnating in the chest where it prevents the dissemination & flow of the yang qi. Symptoms include chest, flank, or upper back pain, dyspnea, coughing, wheezing, & a stifling sensation in the chest.2. Promotes the movement of qi & blood & alleviates pain: for cold stagnant qi with such symptoms as epigastric fullness, distention, & abdominal pain. Also for chest pain due to blood obstructing the Heart channel. 3. Directs the qi downward & reduces stagnation: for damp stagnation in the Large Intestine associated with dysentric disorders. |
