Dosage 9-15g, up to 30g if used alone	Actions 1. Clears the Liver & brightens the eyes: for ascending Liver fire with red, painful, or swollen eyes, or headache & dizziness. Also used for eye pain that increases in the evening due to Liver deficiency, especially when the eyes are neither red nor swollen. 2. Clears heat & dissipates nodules: for any neck lumps or nodules as in scrofula, lipoma, swollen glands, or goiter due to phlegm-fire. Also used for similar nodules in the inguinal canal & other parts of the body. 3. This herb has recently been used in treating hypertension, especially when accompained by Liver fire or ascendant yang patterns.	Meridians Gallbladder, Liver, Stomach	Cautions Use with caution in cases of Spleen or Stomach deficiency.
