Actions

1. Promotes urination, unblocks painful urinary dysfunction, & expels stones: for various types of painful urinary dysfunction. It is a very important herb for treating stones in both the urinary & biliary tracts.

2. Clears damp-heat in the Liver & Gallbladder: for jaundice &/or red, swollen eyes due to damp-heat.

3. Reduces toxicity & swelling: for snakebite, abscess, & traumatic injury.

Cautions

When a large dose of this herb is taken long-term, patients can develop dizziness &/or palpitations. This is attributed to depletion of potassium from the body owing to the herb's diuretic effect.
