Actions

1. Nourishes & tonifies the Liver & Kidney yin: for Liver & Kidney yin deficiency with dizziness, blurred vision, vertigo, & premature graying of the hair.

2. Cools the blood & stops bleeding: for yin deficiency patterns with bleeding due to heat in the blood, with such symptoms as vomiting or coughing up blood, nosebleed, blood in the stool, uterine bleeding, & especially bloody urine.

Cautions

Contraindicated in cases of cold from deficiency of the Spleen or Kidneys with diarrhea.
