Dosage 3-6g	Actions 1. Releases the exterior: for patterns of exterior heat with head & body aches. This is one of the few cool, acrid herbs that is a strong diaphoretic. It is sometimes prescribed by itself. 2. Unblocks the muscle level & vents rashes: hastens the full expression of measles or other exanthemas & thereby accelerates resolution of the disease. Also used for wind rash. 3. Removes water & reduces swelling: for hot superficial edema, primarily when it affects the upper body & is accompanied by urinary difficulty.	Meridians Bladder, Lung	Cautions Contraindicated for any condition with profuse sweating, incuding patterns of exterior deficiency.
