Dosage 1.5-4.5g	Actions 1. Promotes urination & leaches out dampness: for heat disorders with dark, scanty urine, or for hot painful urinary dysfunction. 2. Clears heat from the Heart channel: moves heat from the Heart channel downward into the Small Intestine channel where it is expelled through the urine. Commonly used in pediatric sleep disorders accompanied by dark, scanty urine & irritability, especially at night. Also used in adults for insomnia or restless sleep due to lack of communication between the Heart & the Kidneys (i.e., excessive Heart fire with Kidney yin deficiency).
