English Translation: Ten Partially-Charred Substances Powder
Formula Type: Clear Heat and Stop Bleeding
Actions: Cools the blood, stops bleeding, clears heat, & drains fire.
Indications: Nosebleed or vomiting, spitting, or coughing up of bright red blood. These symptoms usually occur as acute bleeding disorders with sudden onset. The tongue is red & the pulse is rapid.
Contraindications: This formula treats the manifestation of this problem & should thus be discontinued as soon as the bleeding stops. It shuld be prepared in advance & the patient must lie quietly during treatment. In severe cases, it may be necessary to combine biomedical & Chinese treatments.
